    Fifteen Shanahan DECA students competed in the Pennsylvania State DECA Competition in Hershey, PA in February. Each of these students received medals for scoring either the highest test score or for role play in their competitive event.

    Diane Travis, the school nurse, has been named "Pennsylvania's School Nurse of the Year" by the PA Association of School Nurses and Nurse Practitioners (PASNAP). She will be honored at the association's annual conference in State College.

    Senior Dan Rowe has been selected to represent Bishop Shanahan at the 2015 "Best of the Class" event sponsored annually by WPVI-TV (ABC6). This year's event will take place on April 17th at Temple University.

    Fourteen members of the Bishop Shanahan Forensics Team have qualified to compete in the 2015 Pennsylvania State Forensics Championships that will be held at Susquehanna University in late March (March 20 and 21).

    The Board of Directors of the Emergency Aid of PA Foundation has selected Bishop Shanahan freshman Thea DeJong to receive a "2015 Founders Award. Thea was selected based on her leadership qualities and good citizenship.

ARCHDIOCESAN TRANSFER GRANTS of $1000 to attend Bishop Shanahan High School are available to 10th and 11th grade students transferring from public, private or charter schools at the end of the first semester of the 2014-2015 school year.  The second semester begins at the end of January 2015.
