    Three members of the Bishop Shanahan Class of 2015 have been National Merit Scholarship Finalists. They are Daniel Rowe (Malvern), Henry Schaffer (Atglen), and Louis Fortunato (Exton).

    Shanahan junior Ryan McNulty has been named to the All-USA Preseason Boys' Lacrosse Team.

    Each year the Association of Catholic Teachers (ACT) awards a $500.00 scholarship to the Freshman student ranked #1 at the end of the first semester. This year's recipient is Ann Weyand.

    Junior Emily Bracken traveled to NYC to run in the Varsity Classic Indoor Meet at the New Balance Armory. Emily turned in a remarkable 5:14.7, representing one of the 12 fastest times run indoor in the state all year.

    The Bishop Shanahan S.T.E.M. Team will advance to the "Governor's Jobs 1st STEM Competition" after winning the Chester County competition on Febraury 23rd. Team members created a "Stop" sign with a LED lighting system powered by solar energy.

    Bishop Shanahan senior Thomas McGlone (West Chester) has qualified to compete in the NCFL (National Catholic Forensics League Nationals in "Lincoln-Douglas Debate". The competition will be held in Orlando, Florida in late May 2015.

    The Bishop Shanahan High School Girls' Basketball Team captured their first Ches-Mont Championship on February 10th by defeating Downingtown East High school 27-25. The girls begin P.I.A.A. District One AAAA playoffs on Saturday, February 14th.

    The boy's Varisty Ice Hockey team celebrated their senior night.

    February 5th was "Senior Night" for the Girls' Basketball Team. Honored for their leadership and dedication to the program were Jamie Powers, pictured with her parents Jim and Terri, and Rachel Parker, pictured with her parents, Laurie and Mike.

    On Thursday, February 5, close to 100 members of the Bishop Shanahan CSC (Community Service Corps) joined together to decorate and fill 250 'goodie' bags for the Norristown Soup Kitchen.

    As part of the Bishop Shanahan's "Global Awareness Initiaitve", Soha Menassa (right), Catholic Relief Servicecs Project Manager for "CRS Lebanon" , gave a presentation to the student body entitled "Hungering for Peace: Stories of Syrian Refugees".

 
Due to current weather forecast, Bishop Shanahan will be operating on a 2 hour delay on Friday, March 6th.

ARCHDIOCESAN TRANSFER GRANTS of $1000 to attend Bishop Shanahan High School are available to 10th and 11th grade students transferring from public, private or charter schools at the end of the first semester of the 2014-2015 school year.  The second semester begins at the end of January 2015.
