  • Bishop Shanahan High School

    Three members of the Bishop Shanahan Field Hockey Team have been named Ches-Mont All-Stars. They are Leigh Roselli, Kelly Cancelmo, and Emma Velez. Additionally, Roselli and Velez have named Philadelphia Area Senior All-Stars.

    Following the Thanksgiving Liturgy, the Bishop Shanahan community presented a check for $10,000.00 to Cheryl Mzarik of CRS. The donated funds are to be used by CRS to aid relief efforts in Haiti in the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew.

    Prior to their game against Avon Grove on October 28th, twenty-eight members of the Class of 2017 were honored for their talent, leadership, and dedication during "Football Senior Night".

    Bishop Shanahan is one of only 23 high schools across the United States that has achieved the platinum distinction from Catholic Relief Services, which recognizes the school's efforts in educating its students on global issues.

    Members of the Bishop Shanahan World Affairs Club attended a film and discussion event titled "Basketball Diplomacy and the North Korean Mind" held at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia.

    On November 17th, the "13th Annual Bishop Shanahan High School Scholarship Breakfast" was held in the Library. Twenty-eight sponsored scholarships have provided over $100,000.00 in tuition assistance to Bishop Shanahan students.

    Bishop Shanahan is presenting the Broadway musical "Anything Goes" on November 11th, 12th, 18th, 19th, and 20th. Additionally there will a special free performance on Thursday evening, November 17th, for adults and children with special needs.

    On November 11th Tow members of the Bishop Shanahan Boys' Lacrosse Team, Sam Goforth and Jack Whalen, signed "Letters of Intent" to continue their athletic careers at the college level.

    The Bishop Shanahan Marching Band celebrated "Senior Night" on October 28th. Fifteen members of the Class of 2017 were honored for their talent, dedication and leadership.

    On Nov 11th, 4 members of the Girls' Lacrosse Team signed "Letters of Intent" to continue their academic and athletic careers at the college level. They are (L-R) Anna Seifert, Alyssa Manley, Mackenzie Staska and Erin O'Donnell.

    The Bishop Shanahan Community Service Corps collected from our students Halloween candy to be sent overseas to 1st Lieutenant Jay McElveny (Class of 2009). In total, 150 bags of candy were assembled for Jay and his unit in the 101st Airborne Division
