Activities - Forensics Club

 Moderator: Mrs. Marie Langevin

Meeting Day for 2007-08: Monthly: Wednesday / Weekly: varies

Frequency of Meetings: Weekly

Purpose/Activities: The Forensics team takes part in a variety of oral communication competitions. Students research, develop, practice, and deliver their performances which include speeches, interpretations or dramatizations of literature, and congress sessions. Forensics competitors present a polished performance about 10 minutes in length. Although students perform as individuals or in small groups, involvement in forensics always means being part of a larger team that practices, travels, and competes together. Tournaments often have various team awards in addition to individual awards. Students also get many opportunities to interact with and learn from students from other schools.

Requirements: Students from all classes are welcome. Members must be willing to practice on their own time, and participate in competitions.

Officers: President ~ Alexa Fox

Other Information: Time Investment: One session each week plus several competitions on the weekends.
