PENNSYLVANIA GOVERNOR'S SCHOOLS OF EXCELLENCE

What is it? A prestigious and highly competitive summer program for academically and artistically talented 10th and 11th graders.

When is it? Six weeks during the summer, usually from the end of June until the beginning of August.

Where is it? On college campuses at various locations in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

How much does it cost?
Tuition is free, paid for by scholarship compliments of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Agricultural Sciences at Penn State main campus
- School of the Arts at Mercy Hurst College in Erie
- Global Entrepreneurship at Lehigh University in Bethlehem
- Health Care at the University of Pittsburgh
- Information Technology at Penn State main campus or Drexel University
- International Studies at the University of Pittsburgh
- School of the Sciences at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh
- The School of Teaching at Millersville University in Lancaster County

How do I apply?
1. Pick up an application in the Guidance Office or download an application at www.pgse.org. The Information Line for the staff at the Pennsylvania Governor’s Schools of Excellence is (570) 524-5244. Staff members are available to answer questions on weekdays from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Staff members may also be contacted by e-mail - pgse@csiu.org.
2. Complete the application (may apply to up to two schools).
3. Fill out a transcript release form and return it to the Guidance Office. Forms are available in the Guidance Office.
4. Submit all required materials (essays, portfolios, or tapes and applications) by the deadline date. Deadlines must be met or applications will not be considered.
