News From Teacher This website is a work in progress and will probably be finished by Graduation !! But we'll get started . . . The SOPHOMORE BIOLOGY classes are working on their quarterly projects, due Tuesday, November 6, 2007. Students should have been handing in portions of the project on a weekly basis; this was intended to help them with their organization. Those portions that were not finished when due may be completed for partial credit, to be turned in the project due date. This will be a "weighted grade" for the quarter, and there will be no quarterly test. Student grades were posted the week of Oct. 22.
The ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE class is also working on their project -- reasearch, creation and production of an Energy brochure. They have been given class time in the computer resource room for an introduction to the software; they will have 4 class days in the resource room to actually publish the brochure and have it printed. However, STUDENTS MUST RESEARCH THEIR TOPIC ON THEIR OWN TIME and have it ready to use on the 4 publication dates. This brochure will be 60 - 70-% of the project grade, so students should follow the rubric they were given. The project will be a "weighted grade", which can be a big factor to a good grade for the all important first quarter, senior year grade. There will be no quarterly test for the first quarter. Student grades were posted the week of Oct. 22. The AP class has been busy with Lab activities and reports and is currently preparing power point presentations for Energy Resources. They are a very enthusiastic group !!! If you need to reach me, it is best to use e-mail. I will be happy to call you back if you wish. Looking foreward to a great year.
