Allied Health Science Program

Bishop Shanahan High School partners with The Allied Health Science Program run through the Chester County Technical College High School. This prestigious program is a highly regarded option for those considering a career in the medical profession. Top seniors who enroll in this 7.5 hour per week college prep program split their time behind a desk, in the classroom, and on their feet in local health care facilities.
Students have three pathways to choose from: a Hospital, EMT or Sports Medicine track. Students will be offered placement location based upon availability and merit. Students who are not placed in their first-choice track may be offered a spot in their second or third choice track.

The hospital track is for those students who are primarily interested in getting a comprehensive overview of the medical field in a hospital setting. Students will complete clinical rotations across a wide variety of hospital departments. Career opportunities include: physician, surgeon, pharmacist, and registered nurse (RN), to name a few.
