Bishop Shanahan Announces Varsity Girls’ Volleyball Head Coach

Bishop Shanahan Announces Varsity Girls’ Volleyball Head Coach

After an extensive search, Bishop Shanahan High School is proud to announce the hiring of Ms. Peggy Evans as the Varsity Girls’ Volleyball Head Coach, beginning with the Fall 2026 season.

Coach Evans brings a wealth of experience to Shanahan, beginning with her outstanding collegiate career at Juniata College, where she was an NCAA Regional All-Star, All-Conference setter, and still holds the career record for aces. These accomplishments helped shape her competitive mindset and deep commitment to excellence—qualities that continue to define her coaching philosophy.

Over the past 15+ years, Coach Evans has coached at both the high school and club levels, including serving as Head Coach at Villa Maria Academy and with Valley Forge VBC, Sparks VBC, and Royal Legends. In 2022, she was recognized as the Chester County Coach of the Year. Throughout her career, she has led championship-level teams, mentored student-athletes to compete at the collegiate level, and earned her USA Volleyball CAP II certification—an honor achieved by fewer than 5% of coaches nationwide.

Her coaching philosophy centers on developing strong athletes, teammates, and leaders through discipline, passion, and a positive, competitive culture. At Bishop Shanahan, this approach will be rooted in the school’s mission and guided by its motto, “Seek the things that are found above.” Coach Evans is committed to fostering an environment where student-athletes grow not only in skill, but also in faith, character, and purpose—striving for excellence both on and off the court.

Coach Evans shared, “At Bishop Shanahan, my goal is to build a program that reflects passion, accountability, and pride. I am committed to developing not only strong volleyball players, but confident, resilient young women who represent their school and community with integrity.”

Athletic Director Paul Meyers looks forward to working with Coach Evans as she builds upon the strong tradition of Bishop Shanahan Girls’ Volleyball and continues the program’s legacy of success.
