Bishop Shanahan Cross Country Unionville 2-Mile Bash Results

The Bishop Shanahan Cross Country team traveled to southern Chester County on Saturday morning to
compete in the Unionville 2-Mile Bash against 48 schools from Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland.
All athletes raced two miles against only people in their grade, with the top 25 runners in each grade
earning a medal.


The team hauled in 4 medals and recorded a number of personal bests.
Congratulations to the team’s medal winners:

  • Daniel Zimmermann’s time of 10:42 was the fastest time of the day for the Eagles and good for 23rd place in the field of 207 juniors.
  • Connor Todd’s time of 10:50 was good for 13th place out of 176 sophomore boys and was the team’s highest finish of the day.
  • Sophomore Mitchell Croll followed closely behind Connor in 10:56 to earn a 17th place medal.
  • Ben John finished 18 th out of 186 in the freshman boys’ race with a time of 11:37 to claim a medal.

We had several other strong performances. For the boys, Aengus Langan finished 29 th in the sophomore
race. His time of 11:33 was an impressive 59 seconds faster than last year. Ben Leinhauser’s time of
11:42 was good for 66 th place in the senior boys’ race and was a whopping 1:42 faster than last year.
Freshman Dennis O’Rourke’s time of 12:27 placed him 45th . Rounding out the top 9 for the boys were
sophomore Parker Serock (12:50) and freshman Kai Rogenmuser (13:16 – 79 th place). The youth and
talent of the boys’ team makes for an exciting several years ahead. Of our top nine runners in this race,
1 is a senior, 1 is a junior, 4 are sophomores, and 3 are freshman.


Speaking of youth, Charley Mozzone led the way for the girls. In her first high school race, she ran 14:24
to place 31 st out of 134 runners in the freshman girls’ race. She was followed by freshman Paola Navarro
(62 nd in 15:36), senior LilaKate Bowler (15:54), senior Maddie Engelhart (16:28), junior Erin Altringer
(17:11), senior Kaitlyn Burgess (18:02), sophomore Madeline Pezza (18:50) and sophomore Anna Stolz
(19:54).
