Bishop Shanahan High School Announces Head Cheerleading Coach

After an extensive search, Bishop Shanahan High School is proud to announce the appointment of Kara Taylor as the new Head Cheerleading Coach, beginning with the Fall 2026 season. Coach Taylor graduated from Bishop Shanahan High School in 2015.

She holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Post University and is a licensed Real Estate Agent with a certification in Real Estate Negotiation. Her skill set includes mentoring, motivating, and building positive relationships, qualities that will significantly benefit our cheerleading program.

In her prior role as Assistant Head Coach at Kubasaki High School in Okinawa, Japan (June 2022–2024), her team advanced to the UCA National competition held in Tokyo. She has successfully led and supervised cheerleading practices, games, competitions, and team events. She developed and taught routines, cheers, chants, and stunts tailored to varying skill levels, while fostering sportsmanship, leadership, confidence, and teamwork.

Coach Taylor’s energetic, community-focused approach, rooted in faith-based values, along with her proven ability, will continue to inspire the squad to try new techniques and skills using training from UCA.

Coach Taylor is looking forward to returning to her Alma Mater and taking part in all of the time-honored traditions of building up the community.
