Girls' Indoor Track | Kristian Marche Memorial Invitation

The girls' indoor track team traveled to New York City to compete against 98 schools from PA and NY in the Kristian Marche Memorial Invitational at the famous Armory Track and Field Complex.

Meghan Willis led the way with a 5th place finish in the mile. Her time of 5:21 is the 22nd fastest in the state of PA this year. Penelope Loeper had the girls’ second highest finish of the day – a 6th place finish in the 3000. Her time of 11:20 shattered the existing school record by 14 seconds.

Five team members recorded personal bests. Freshman Jackie Regan led the team in the 60m dash with a PR of 8.70 seconds. Senior Maddie Grigalonis took a couple of seconds off her previous best with a time of 1:08.04 in the 400, and all three Shanahan runners in the 200 eclipsed their previous indoor bests: Josephine Regan (29.00), Gianna Scarantino (29.58), and Samantha Garrity (30.47).

The relay teams were also on top of their games. The 4 x 200 team lowered their season best time by 3 seconds. Jackie Regan, Meghan Willis, Sophia Ceulers, and Renee Kinard all recorded splits in the mid 29s.  Their time of 1:58.19 was good for 32nd place. The 4 x 400 team of Meghan Willis, Penelope Loeper, Maddie Grigalonis, and Lauren Serpentine wrapped up the very long day with another season best (4:37) to finish 23rd.

Julia Jermyn posted a solid 6:53 in the mile and Lauren Serpentine ran 2:56 in the 800 – nice performances for both.  Sophia Ceulers finished 17th and 18th respectively in the triple jump and long jump.
