Shanahan Boys Winter Track Competes in PIAA Indoor State Championships

The Boy's Winter Track Team competed in the PIAA Indoor State Championships Sunday, March 1st at Penn State University.

 

The 4x200m relay team of Sebastian Ruth, Aidan Civitella, Greg Palaia and Colin Cregan burned up the track winning their heat setting a new school record with a time of 1:29.82. This time was good enough to place 4th in the state competiting against many larger schools.  The athletes, parents and coaches were ecstatic about their accomplishment. They were the last team to qualify ranked 20th and raced their way to 4th place. 

 

Senior Colin Cregan also qualified in the 60m dash running a time of 7.09 seconds placing him 16th out of 20.

 

Sebastian Ruth was the youngest competitor to race in the 400m dash. The sophomore placed 19th with a time of 50.61 seconds.

 

This concludes a successful Winter Track Season.
