Track & Field Championship Results
District I Track and Field Championship Results – May 17-18
Eleven members of the boys' and girls' track and field teams competed in the District I Championship Meet at Coatesville. For 8 of the 11 team members, this was their first experience competing in Districts. They responded well to the pressure and high-level of competition from the most competitive district in the state. Here are the highlights:

Junior Steven Todd qualified for States in the 3200 with a brilliant race that landed him a fifth-place finish, a school record and a trip to Shippensburg for the State Championship Meet this coming Friday and Saturday. Steven’s time was 9:13.63. Steven also finished 14th in the 1600 in a time of 4:20.91.

Sophomore Colin Cregan produced a pair of personal bests in the 100 and 200 and anchored the 4x100 to a season-best time. Colin finished 11th in the 100 with a time of 11:01 – second fastest in school history. He also finished 11th in the 200 with a time of 22.43 – fourth fastest runner in school history.

The boys 4x100 relay team of Aidan Civitella, CJ Okafor, Greg Palaia, and Colin Cregan ran a season-best 42.62 to finish 14th – the second fastest quartet in Shanahan history. Aidan, Greg and Colin are all sophomores.

Junior Jack Polizzi finished 13th in the 400 in a time of 49.94, his second consecutive sub-50 second performance at the distance.

Senior Meghan Willis finished 13th in the 1600 with a time of 5:13.

Aidan Civitella finished 14th in the long jump with a leap of 20’1.5”.

The girls’ 4x100 team of Josephine Regan, Payton Nolan, Jacqueline Regan, and Sophia Ceulers ran 50.29 seconds to finish 20th, just a quarter of a second off their season best set last week.
