Bishop Shanahan High School students are both athletes and scholars. Many of our student aspire to compete in collegiate sports, and often receive scholarships from colleges and universities. Our Athletic and College Counseling departments assist students and their families in navigating this process.

Steve Sweeney '18

Steve Sweeney '18 established a new level of elite Millersville University student-athlete Tuesday when he became the first Marauder ever to be named College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America® for a second time. Click here to read more.

Emily Ettien '20

Bishop Shannahan Alumni Emily Ettien of the Class of 2020, reached 1,000 Career Assists for the Immaculata University Women’s Volleyball program in the team’s win over Penn State-Abington. Ettien the team’s setter and team captain is only the fifth player in Immaculata program history to reach this honor. She achieved the honor during the second set of the match, when she set a kill by her former Bishop Shanahan teammate Ava Thorley. Click here to read the full article.

Cooper Jordan '19

Congratulations to Cooper Jordan '19 who was named PSAC East Athlete of the Week! Check out the full article at https://shorturl.at/zHORX.

Jordan was instrumental in West Chester's come-from-behind victory on the road at Bentley in Saturday's season opener. He orchestrated a pair of scoring drives that erased a nine-point deficit entering the fourth quarter and pushed the Golden Rams to victory.

Jessica Gorr '19

Congratulations to Jessica Gorr '19 who was named the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division II national goalkeeper of the year! Gorr is the first West Chester University student-athlete named in the IWLCA's postseason individual honors since the organization began the awards program in 2009. 

Simmi Whitehill '22

Congratulations to Simmi Whitehill '22 for winning the Big 10 Regular Season Baseball Championship with the University of Maryland. Go Terps!

Mac Barry '18

Congratulations to Mac Barry '18 who was selected to the National Football Foundation and College Football Hall of Fame Hampshire Honor Society! The 2023 NFF Hampshire Honor Society is comprised of college football players from all divisions of the NCAA, NAIA, and sprint football who each maintained a cumulative 3.2 GPA or better throughout their college careers and who were starters or significant contributors throughout the 2022 season. Way to go, Mac!

Brandon Choi '22

Congratulations to Brandon Choi '22 on being named to Pennsylvania Western University Dean's List for the 2022 fall semester. Brandon currently studies at Penn West's California Campus and plays on their football team!

Over 3,500 Pennsylvania Western University students earned placement on the Dean's List. Degree-seeking undergraduate students who achieve high academic standards are identified in accordance with the following criteria: the students must earn a minimum semester GPA of 3.40, and the student must earn a minimum of 12 graded credits.

Paris Masaracchia '22
