Global Awareness Month | Week 1
The theme for Global Awareness Month this year is "Be the One," inspired by Mother Teresa and our One Book, One School program's summer book, "I Will Always Write Back."
During the first week of Global Awareness Month, students focused on the themes of "Education" and the "Virtue of Gratitude." The week's activities included:
- A miniature simulation of Martin's house (from "I Will Always Write Back") and what it would be like to study there;
- Interactive presentations during theology classes, led by Faith in Action students, comparing experiences of Martin's education with Shanahan;
- Thank- you note writing to teachers all around the school, expressing gratitude for education; and
- The Global Awareness Dodgeball Tournament, raising over $500 for the Catholic Relief Services Rice Bowl program.
