Mrs. Teresa Dellicompagni Announced as Next President of Bishop Shanahan High School

June 25, 2024

Dear Bishop Shanahan High School Parents and Guardians,

I hope you are enjoying a peaceful and relaxing summer break. In April, Reverend John E. Donia shared that he was anticipating a new priestly assignment from Archbishop Pérez. In May, the Archbishop announced that Father Donia had been appointed Pastor of Saint Elizabeth Parish in Upper Uwchlan and Parochial Administrator of Saint Thomas More Parish in Pottstown, Chester County, effective, June 17th .

Over the past two months, the Office of Catholic Education in conjunction with Bishop Shanahan’s Administration and Board of Directors, has been engaged in an extensive search process to identify your next school president.

Today, it gives me great pleasure to announce that the search process has concluded. Archbishop Pérez has approved our search committee’s recommendation, to appoint Mrs. Teresa Dellicompagni as president of Bishop Shanahan High School effective July 1, 2024.

Mrs. Dellicompagni has been an integral part of the Bishop Shanahan community for 14 years. She has served as Business Department Faculty member, Assistant Principal for Students Affairs, and most recently as Assistant Principal for Academic Affairs. In addition, she serves on the Academic and Athletic Committees of the board of limited jurisdiction and was previously on committees including Marketing and Enrollment, Strategic Plan, and Health and Safety Plan. Throughout that time, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing the mission of Catholic Education.

Mrs. Dellicompagni holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Commerce and Engineering from Drexel University, a Master of Business Administration from West Chester University, and a Secondary Education Certificate from Immaculata University.

Please join me in extending heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Mrs. Dellicompagni as she prepares to assume her new role in service to the Bishop Shanahan community. At the same time, we all express deep gratitude to Father Donia for his faithful leadership to the school and offer him prayerful best wishes as he assumes his new roles in service to the Church of Philadelphia.

In closing, know of our continued gratitude for the sacrifices you make to provide the gift of a Catholic education to your sons and daughters and for your ongoing support of Bishop Shanahan High School and know of my prayers for you and your families during this summer break. May it be peaceful and enjoyable.

Thank you for everything and I look forward to working closely with you.

Mr. Jay DeFruscio
Chief Operating Officer of Secondary Schools
Office of Catholic Education
Archdiocese of Philadelphia
