SHANAHAN EVENTS

This webpage highlights just a few of the events that take place at Bishop Shanahan High School

Catholic Schools Week 2022

​Sunday, January 30 | Mother-Son Communion Breakfast
  • Mothers and their sons will celebrate Mass together in the auditorium at BSHS, followed by breakfast at the Downingtown Country Club. Mass begins at 10:00 AM; tickets are required for breakfast.
 
Monday, January 31 | Celebrating our Faith
  • Classes will make visits to the Most Blessed Sacrament throughout the school day
  • Quiz Corner focusing on BSHS history will be featured on Channel 2
  • Students from the Ministry Club will lead prayers at beginning of each class period and lunch
  • Phone-A-Thon thanking donors for their contribution to Catholic education
 
Tuesday, February 1 | Celebrating our Community - SOUPer Bowl Donations
  • Students are asked to donate a can of soup (1/26 through 2/1) to benefit the ChesCo Food Bank
  • Students may wear their class color t-shirts in place of their school sweaters
  • Charity Day Collection this week will benefit AOP Schools of Special Education
 
Wednesday, February 2 Celebrating our Faculty and Staff
  • Faculty and Staff celebrations and treats throughout the day
 
Thursday, February 3 Celebrating our Parishes and Vocations
  • Thank you messages will be sent to pastors and principals
  • Students will have an opportunity to acknowledge the sacrifices of their parents
  • The community will acknowledge the religious vocations from BSHS and those who serve BSHS
 
Friday, February 4 Celebrating our Students and Families
  • Students will be permitted to dress down in BSHS green and white attire
  • The Brain Game returns to BSHS for fun class competition
  • Student treats and prizes will be available throughout the day
  • School will be dismissed at 1:30 PM (see below for info on busing)
 
 Friday Night, February 4 Battle of the Bands Showcase
  • Battle of the Bands Showcase!! Doors open at 6:00 PM; show starts at 6:30 PM
  • All proceeds benefit Bishop Shanahan tuition assistance
  • Refreshments and chances for raffle baskets will be sold
