Community Service

Bishop Shanahan High School is rooted in the mission of the Catholic Church, forming students as people of God who are called to serve others.

Service is at the heart of the Shanahan experience, encouraging students to live out the Gospel through acts of compassion, leadership, and generosity. Through service opportunities both within the school community and beyond, students are challenged to recognize the dignity of every person and respond with purpose.

In this way, Shanahan forms young men and women who are prepared not only for success, but to make a difference in the lives of others.

Through this foundation, service becomes more than participation, it becomes formation in the Catholic faith. Rooted in the example of Christ, students are called to see service as a lived expression of discipleship, where faith and action are inseparable. Within the Shanahan community, students learn to lead with humility, act with compassion, and respond to the needs of others with a spirit of love and justice.

These experiences shape not only how students engage during their time at Shanahan, but how they will continue to live out their faith beyond graduation. In this way, they are formed as faithful disciples who carry forward a commitment to serve, uplift, and strengthen the Church and the wider community.
