Three Seniors Named to ACDA Regional Honor Choir
Congratulations to seniors Addison Egan (SATB Ensemble), Maria DiMeo (SSAA Ensemble), and Lauren Dynesko (SSAA Ensemble) who were accepted into the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) Regional Honor Choir! Congratulations also to Ms. Evelyn Stohlman who worked with the students towards this wonderful accomplishment. This is a great honor given to select students who are among some of the best singers on the East Coast!
The American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) Regional Honor Choir is an audition-only honor choir that takes place every two years. Students are eligible to audition if they attend a school on the East Coast and are in good standing with their schools’ Choral Department. On average, about 1000 students audition for this event; only 200 singers are selected. If selected, students are invited to travel to the ACDA Regional Conference taking place in Providence, Rhode Island, February 28th - March 2, 2024. Over the course of the 4-day event, singers participate in rehearsals and vocal workshops led by a selected prolific choral conductor. Dr. Felicia Barber will be conducting the 2024 Honor Choirs. Additionally, students will be attending a private concert and questions and answer session given by VOCES8, a Grammy-nominated and globally touring choral ensemble. At the completion of the event, the Honor Choirs will perform an hour long concert in Veterans Memorial Auditorium.
