We have exciting news to share! This is an inaugural year in the history of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia (AOP) where 8th Grade students from across the greater Philadelphia area and beyond will be given the opportunity to take/have the need to take only one (1) high school scholarship test (HSPT) and send their scores to up to three (3) of the 15 Archdiocesan High Schools for potential academic scholarship evaluation! This test will be offered to all families free of charge, saving students and families time, money, and hopefully providing peace of mind!
What is the cost of the test?
The test is free of charge.
Where/when are the tests being offered?
For all 8th Grade students coming from the 102 AOP Elementary and 14 Independence Mission School (IMS), the Collaborative Testing Process will be offered at your local grade school. The testing period for these students will take place between Monday, September 25th through Friday, September 28th.
For all students coming from any school that is not one of the 102 AOP Elementary and 14 IMS Schools, and coming from a local Public, Private, Charter, Independent, Virtual, Home, or Other School options, they will have the opportunity to sit for the Collaborative Testing Process at one of our 15 Archdiocese of Philadelphia high school locations on various dates in the beginning of October.
How do I register my child for the Collaborative Scholarship Testing Process?
For AOP elementary and Independence Mission School 8th grade students, pre-registration is not required, and your school principal/8th grade teacher will provide the date they will be administering the HSPT at your local school. For AOP and IMS 8th Grade students, they will be designating up to three (3) schools that they would like to submit their test scores to on the day of testing. Again, this testing process is completely free of charge to the family.
For all Public, Private, Charter, Independent, Virtual, Home, or Other School families, they will be required to pre-register for one of the testing dates that are being held at the 15 AOP high school locations. The pre-registration link for non-AOP and IMS families can be found here.
The process for pre-registering will include choosing the desired school location/date in which your child will partake in the Collaborative Testing process and designating on the registration form the up to three (3) AOP high schools that you would like your child’s test scores to be sent to for scholarship evaluation. Again, this testing process is completely free of charge to the family.
Please note that Shanahan's testing code is (013).
