Saint John Paul II Scholarship for Excellence in Performing Arts

Bishop Shanahan is pleased to offer The St. John Paul II Scholarship to applicants for the Class of 2028 who have demonstrated excellence in the performing arts. Scholarships are renewable over four years dependent upon maintaining 90% quarter average and an exemplary discipline record. Recipients of this scholarship are expected to be a cast member in both the Fall Musical and the Spring Play and in one other music ensemble, namely, Choir, Band or String Ensemble.

APPLICATION PROCESS

  • Students must have a completed admissions application for Bishop Shanahan High School on file.
     

  • A FACTS application must be submitted by the family of any student applying for a scholarship. More information about applying for FACTS can be found on the Admissions page of the Shanahan website.
     

  • Applicants must submit a Video Audition with two contrasting memorized monologues that showcase your strengths and one memorized song that showcases your strengths

    • Please state your first and last name and share an interesting fact about yourself. 

    • Introduce each piece of the audition with the name of the song or origin of the monologue.

    • The song must be accompanied, whether by a track or an accompanist; no a cappella, please. 
       

  • Videos should show the student in the frame from the waist up. 

Please submit your application and cover page (below) to scholarships@shanahan.org by November 30, 2023. Scholarship recipients will be notified in January.
