Aramark is the cafeteria provider for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia High Schools. PaySchools Central is used by parents to place funds on students' ID Cards for lunch meals in the cafeteria through Aramark. All questions regarding the POS system can be directed to the Aramark Cafeteria Manager at school. 

To set up an account:

1) "The Archdiocese of Philadelphia" as the school district

2)  Enter your students Bishop Shanahan ID# ex: 123456

3) Money entered after 7:00 am will not show up in the Student account until the following day

*** Important- If you used Payschools Central for another school prior to attending Bishop Shanahan, you will need to recreate a new account.

New or Used Chromebook Must Meet the Following Requirements before the Activation Event:

The Classes of 2026, 2027, 2028, and 2029 are required to have a Chromebook, which meet or exceed our minimal specifications, for the start of the academic year. Returning students need to review these requirements at the beginning of each new school year to be sure their Chromebooks still meet these requirements, with particular attention to the Google Auto Update Policy.

Minimum Chromebook Requirements:

• Screen Size: Minimum of 11 inches  

• Memory: Minimum of 4 GB

• Hard Drive Size: Minimum of 16 GB

• Wireless connectivity: 802.11ac

 *Although a warranty is not required, it is highly recommended. Students will use their Chromebooks daily and BSHS will not repair or attempt to fix student Chromebooks.

Used Chromebooks Requirements

If your Chromebook is used or you plan on using the same Chromebook you used last year, please make sure that the Auto Update Expiration (AUE) date does not expire during the upcoming school year. If a device reaches its Auto Update Expiration date, it will not be permitted on the school network; a new Chromebook would be required. You can read more here: Google Auto Update Policy.

Chromebook Options

Option 1
If you already own a Google Chromebook from your previous school, you can continue to use it at BSHS, so long as it meets the minimal requirements, specifically the Used Chromebook Requirements (see above). Chromebooks will need to be added to the Shanahan domain during the Chromebook activation event that will be scheduled for late August. The link for the scheduling portal will be available on Shanahan.org and emailed to families once dates are finalized.

Option 2
If you are purchasing a Chromebook on your own, it must meet the minimal requirements. Chromebooks will need to be added to the Shanahan domain during the Chromebook activation event that will be scheduled for late August. • Chrome Operating System with active Auto Update Policy that will not expire through your student's graduation year. Please see Google Auto Update Policy.

• Chromebook must have a functioning camera/microphone and be able to hold a charge for the full school day (at least 7 hours).

For the Class of 2029 and Students Transferring In:

Bishop Shanahan High School students are required to use a Google Chromebook.* Please see the details above.

For incoming Freshmen and students transferring to BSHS, you will need to bring your Chromebook to your scheduled S.O.A.R. session to have it enrolled; it will be ready for you to take home at the end of your session. If you will be bringing a brand new Chromebook, please leave it in the box.

The 6-Day Cycle promotes continuity in class preparation and instruction. Whenever a holiday or longer vacation interrupts the cycle, classes resume with the next day of the cycle. Test Days are arranged to space the number of tests on one day. Departments may choose one of the following two days in a cycle for testing:

• English 2, 5
• Social Studies 3, 6
• Math 3, 6
• Science 1, 4
• World Language 2, 5
• Business 1, 4
• Fine Arts 3, 6
• Health/PE 2, 5

Parents are invited to actively participate in sponsored student and school activities. Throughout the school year, opportunities will arise for parents to volunteer at sponsored student and school activities. All parent volunteers must have their clearances on file. We highly recommend students link their College Board accounts with a Khan Academy account for SAT practice. All students who have taken the PSAT at Bishop Shanahan already have College Board accounts. If your student does not have a College Board account, they can create one here. Official SAT Practice with Khan Academy will diagnose your strengths and weaknesses, provide you with a customized program of study, and provide you with materials to practice with every day. To link you accounts and start practicing today, please follow these steps (watch this video to learn more):

1. If you don’t already have one, sign up for a free Official SAT Practice account and link it to your College Board account.

   • Visit the site here, and click Let’s Go.

   • Create a Khan Academy account.

2. Tell Khan Academy when you’re taking the test so you can receive a personalized study plan. 
   From your SAT dashboard, find “Practice Schedule” and click edit to enter or change the date when you plan to take the SAT.

3. Let Khan Academy diagnose your strengths and weaknesses. 
   You can get a diagnosis in these ways:  

   • If you previously took one of the PSAT-related assessments or the SAT and connected your College Board account to your Khan Academy account, Khan Academy can use those scores as the basis of a personalized study plan.

   • You can also take a full-length practice test on Khan Academy or a series of shorter diagnostic quizzes to get the same analysis and study plan.

4. Follow the personalized study recommendations.
   Your SAT dashboard on Khan Academy will give you recommendations on exactly what to do every day (including how many minutes to spend). The dashboard will also provide practice questions based on what you need to study most and what’s most likely to appear on the test. 

5. Take a full-length practice test. 
   You can access eight full-length practice tests from your Khan Academy dashboard so you have many chances to practice. Plan to take at least one full-length practice test.
   Our research has demonstrated that taking a full-length practice test is one of the best ways you can prepare. It will also help Khan Academy pinpoint the areas you should work on so you can make the most of your time.

   Your dashboard will keep track of your skill levels as you progress and give you practice sets to help you level up your skills most effectively. 

All 10th grade students receive a copy of the Kaplan SAT Prep Book, and use it to do SAT prep across the curriculum during their 10th and 11th grade years. 

The National Honor Society is ready and willing to tutor students who are in need. If a student is looking for a tutor, please complete the form found here. An NHS officer will reach out to assist in assigning a tutor.

SPRING SPORTS REGISTRATION AND PIAA FORMS

• Registration for Spring Sports OPENS JANUARY 26, 2026. 

• Spring sports include Boys and Girls Track and Field, Boys and Girls Lacrosse, Baseball, Softball, Boys Tennis, Boys Volleyball, Girls Flag Football, and Boys Rugby.

Forms dated prior to May 1, 2025 will not be valid and registration will not be complete.
