National Honor Society, French National Honor Society, Italian National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society,

- Advanced Placement -

​At Bishop Shanahan High School, we offer 21 Advanced Placement courses. AP exams are taken in May, and based on the results of these tests, many students receive college credit. For the past five years, BSHS students have performed well above both the Pennsylvania and global Averages. BSHS also has more AP students than the PA and global averages.

- National Merit Scholars -

​At Bishop Shanahan High School, we are honored to have many students named as National Merit Scholars each and every year! National Merit Scholars are selected based on their excellent PSAT scores out of 1.5 million high school juniors from around the country. 50,000 participants receive recognition as Commended Students in the National Merit Scholarship Program annually. Only 16,000 students are selected to be national Semi-finalists. Some 15,000 are named as national Finalists.

STEM Pathways inspires the next generation of innovators by empowering students to be creative, collaborative and critical-thinking problem solvers. Eagle Business Academy  Pathways empowers students in the development of  key skills including critical thinking, problem solving, research, reading, writing, speaking, presenting,  teamwork,  analyzing, reasoning, negotiating, and questioning.

STEM

At BSHS, we place great importance on S.T.E.M. specific courses, as well as on our established Science, Technology and Mathematics departments. We design our S.T.E.M. courses to help students develop a set of thinking, reasoning, teamwork, and investigative and creative skills needed in our increasingly technological world.

Technical College High School

Bishop Shanahan High School partners with the Chester County Technical College High School (TCHS), where our 11th and 12th grade students can begin an exciting career in a program of their choice, all while earning the elective credits needed to fulfill BSHS's graduation requirements.

University Credit

Bishop Shanahan High School offers unique learning opportunities for 11th and 12th grade students as a means of providing them with the most extensive list of course options.  Our partnerships with Immaculata University and Neumann University allow students to take college courses  and to receive dual credit for both BSHS and the partner university. These courses are taught by a professor on Shanahan's campus.

Bishop Shanahan High School partners with the Arrupe Virtual Learning Institute (AVLI). AVLI provides online and blended student coursework that complements BSHS's existing instructional programs. Students receive quality learning experiences that help them mature as thoughtful, independent learners.
