S.T.E.M. AT BISHOP SHANAHAN HIGH SCHOOL
Pennsylvania is home to some of the most technologically diverse and scientifically sophisticated companies in the world. With these avenues for STEM employment existing in our communities, it is important that BSHS students understand the concepts and skills that will be invaluable in moving citizens into these high value occupations.
At BSHS, we place great importance on S.T.E.M. specific courses, as well as on our established Science, Technology and Mathematics departments. We design our S.T.E.M. courses to help students develop a set of thinking, reasoning, teamwork, and investigative and creative skills needed in our increasingly technological world.

STEM Pathways
STEM Pathways inspires the next generation of innovators by empowering students to be creative, collaborative and critical-thinking problem solvers. This program takes an interdisciplinary approach to learning, where rigorous academic concepts are coupled with real-world applications. Shanahan students use STEM in contexts that make connections between school, community, work, and the wider world. The program ensures all BSHS students graduate with fluency in basic STEM literacy and provides a pathway to success in college, career and beyond. Click here to learn more.
