The Media Center is the school's 21st century library. BSHS re-envisioned our traditional library space to create a dynamic, interactive place where students can connect with information. This space cultivates research, study and discovery and combines learning, technology and interaction to inspire an authentic, student-centered, 21st century education.
Visiting the Media Center
Students are welcome to visit the Media Center throughout the day, and should follow the procedures below so that the school may maintain an accurate attendance record:
Before School Visit
The Media Center is typically open before school each day for one hour before the first bell. On the normal Bell 1 Schedule, this means 7:00 AM. A faculty moderator is available to assist students at this time.
After 7:45 AM, students are not able to enter through the Media Center and should report to the Cafeteria in preparation of the first bell at 8:01 AM.
Class Time Visits
Obtain a signed Media Center Pass from your teacher.
Lunch Time Visits
Obtain a signed Media Center Pass from your lunch moderator. Make sure you report to the lunchroom first and sign out on the lunch room Media Center Pass.
Study Period Visits
During study period, students wishing to use the Media Center must sign up in the Media Center beforehand. Students report directly to the Media Center as they would to class. Roll is taken in the Media Center and the roll slip is sent to the study hall monitor. Students must remain in the Media Center the entire period.
After School Visits
The Media Center is typically open after school each day (excepting Fridays) until 5:00 PM. A faculty moderator is available to assist students at this time.
