Investing in The Shanahan Difference

Tuition & Fees

​The 2020 - 2021 tuition is:

  • 1 Student     $9,100.00
  • 3 Students   $6,066.67
  • 4 Students   $4,550.00

The school fee for all students in the 2020 - 2021 academic year is $1,400.00 per student. Students participating in athletics and select activities are billed an athletic/activity fee separately. For additional tuition and fee information, click here.

Affording a Bishop Shanahan Education

Catholic education is an important investment, and Bishop Shanahan is committed to working with families to help make BSHS affordable. For the 2019-2020 academic year, BSHS awarded more than $1.5 million in tuition assistance and scholarships. 

​All families requesting tuition assistance must complete the process using the online FACTS grant and aid application. This includes families applying for EITC, which has strict income criteria, as well as families applying for other need-based scholarship funding. 
​FACTS APPLICATION DEADLINES:
  • The Application for the 2021 - 2022 school year is now open. Priority deadline is December 31, 2020. 
  • Required documentation (2019 tax returns) and a $30 application fee must be provided and applicants must comply with the deadlines.​ All tax returns must be uploaded in the system; FACTS is no longer accepting faxed or mailed tax returns.
  • All need-based awards will be contingent on reception of the most recent tax return.
  • It is recommend that applicants upload all supporting documentation in PDF format, online.

EITC Tuition Assistance 

The EITC program enables Pennsylvania businesses and individuals the opportunity to redirect their PA taxes to Bishop Shanahan High School to be awarded to families in need of tuition assistance. These awards are allocated to families who qualify based on total household income.

Current household gross income guidelines are as follows: 
  • 1 dependent:  Household income of no more than $108,382
  • 2 dependents:  Household income of  no more than $124,604
  • 3 dependents:  Household income of no more than $140,826
  • 4 dependents:  Household income of no more than $157,048
  • 5 dependents:  Household income of no more than $173,270
*Add $16,222 for each additional dependent. A dependent is a person other than the taxpayer or spouse who entitles the taxpayer to claim a dependency exemption. 

Scholarships

There are many scholarships available to attend Bishop Shanahan High School. These awards are made available through generous gifts to the Shanahan Endowment Fund, The Shanahan Annual Fund, local foundations, and private benefactors. Families interested in applying for these need-based scholarships are encouraged to submit the  FACTS application online, prior to the December 31, 2019 priority deadline. Additional Scholarships

Shanahan Scholarship Program
This competitive scholarship program provides for ten renewable $3500 scholarships awarded to eighth graders enrolling at Bishop Shanahan High School and is determined by a scholarship examination. The winner must score in the 90th percentile. The scholarship is renewable for four years, provided the student maintains a 90 average. Click here to learn more about the 8th Grade Scholarship Exam.
Neumann Scholarship Program
This academic scholarship program, awarded by the Connelly Foundation, is available to eighth grade students who are nominated to participate in the scholarship test by their elementary schools. A competitive examination is given each year to those registered, and diocesan tuition is awarded for academic excellence to those with the highest scores. This scholarship is renewable each year to the recipient, provided the student maintains the scholarship requirement.
